MUMBAI: Two persons were killed while crossing railway tracks on the Western line.
In the first case, a man was knocked down by a Churchgate-bound local near Mahim station on Thursday night. The man, believed to be in his thirties, failed to notice the approaching train. The train's motorman reported the incident which occurred at 11.35pm. The Government Railway Police (GRP) said the deceased was in a brown t-shirt and a pair of shorts, but no identification was found on him.
In an incident on Wednesday night, a woman, also in her thirties, was knocked down by a Churchgate-bound local while trying to cross the tracks near Mahalaxmi station at 8.30pm.
Nobody has claimed the bodies of both victims, which were sent to Nair hospital's post-mortem centre. Two cases of accidental death were registered by the Mumbai Central GRP.
